Celebrating 25 Years of Services

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Community Care Ministries and we are proud to make a difference in our communities.

Twenty-five years ago, Community Care Ministries began serving the Pottawatomie County community by addressing acute health issues. Our clinics are a vital organization that has been dedicated to serving Pottawatomie, Wabaunsee, and the neighboring counties. Committed to our mission, we will persist in offering access to medical care, mental health support, food assistance, and social services, which significantly impacts the lives of our patients and their families. This access fosters peace of mind, economic stability, and the necessary services to maintain good health.

Our journey commenced in 2001 when three healthcare professionals, Rosemary Helms, Lorena Carlson, and Elizabeth Hesse, united to provide assistance to those in need of medical care. From humble beginnings in a small office, the ministry has expanded into a remarkable facility in Wamego and an outreach office in Alma, growing in numerous ways to serve the surrounding communities.

At Community Care Ministries, our mission is to promote the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being of each individual within the framework of their relationships with God, family, and neighbors. The Ministries strive to create innovative solutions for addressing and fulfilling needs while identifying available resources. Our goal is to ensure the safety of individuals and families by offering a range of support services, including medical, mental health care, food assistance, and social services to those who are underinsured and uninsured in the region.

Our Mission is Empowering Community to Achieve Whole-Person Wellness. Assisting residents from our surrounding area to inspire individual wellness; to encourage healthy family patterns, ensure access to affordable health care, and enlist others to work together for the common good.

Currently, we offer medical, mental health in partnership with Pawnee Mental Health, food assistance, and social assistance services. Our medical, and mental health services are available to uninsured individuals whose household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty level. There are no charges for eligible patients/clients for in-house services.
